Facebook is seeking a Program Manager to join our Data Center Connectivity (DCC) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure efficiently operates and our innovative services are delivered. The DCC European Program Manager will provide forecasting, coordination, and oversight to our European data center cabling installations, including new builds, retrofits and capacity upgrades. This role will be accountable for cost, schedule, and resources, and is expected to provide key support of our initiatives to scale operations and to develop robust processes and tools enabling Facebook’s expansion. This position is full-time and is based in our Dublin, Ireland office.
Responsibilities
Program manage cabling installations for new data center builds and retrofits, from design and procurement through commissioning and turn-over
Coordinate capacity upgrades, working with field, Site Ops, and Facility Ops
Work with internal stakeholders to accurately forecast and plan for new builds, retrofits, and capacity upgrades
Act as primary PoC to internal stakeholders to ensure projects are planned and executed to corporate requirements
Provide regular project status updates and support DCC and corporate dashboards that highlight program timelines, costs, and status
Represent DCC needs in development of tools to track and coordinate builds, both planned and in-flight
Assure coordination of builds across DCC design team, field teams, contractors, and other departments within Facebook
Track performance to schedule & financial goals, highlight opportunities for improvement, and drive accordingly
Partner with sourcing & field teams to scale resources to meet increasing build and retrofit requirements
Assist with developing project budgets and providing ROM cost estimates
Travel 25+% to review projects, coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at project locations, and coordinate with design and program management teams at MPK
Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
5+ years professional experience in project management
Successful oversight of timelines and budgets for complex projects is required
Ability to engage and effectively guide stakeholders is required
Experience in mission critical environments is highly desired
Data center development and construction experience is desired
Knowledge of cabling technologies and standards is desired
Must be detail oriented, able to provide solutions to complex problems, and able to meet tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and MS Project is required
