We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Safety Case Engineers to join our Design and Safety team at Babcock.
The role holder will be responsible for leading a team of Safety Case Engineers to produce, maintain and develop Nuclear Site Safety Justification documentation relating to operations at HM Naval Base Clyde, thereby ensuring that continuous permission to carry out activities is maintained.
Specific responsibilities will include conducting hazard and risk analyses and developing safety justification for permissioning of operations affecting nuclear safety. Additional responsibilities will include supporting safety justifications through a complex authorisation process and acting as a point of contact for enquiries relating to Safety Case practices.
The anticipated salary for this role will be between £46,500 and £48,500 per annum.
We are looking for candidates with significant experience of Safety Case production and development, ideally gained in a nuclear environment. Previous Managerial experience would be an advantage, as would experience of probabilistic safety assessments. Other key areas of competency we require are as follows:
Degree level qualification in an Engineering discipline or a fully completed Engineering Apprenticeship plus further education to a minimum of HNC level (or equivalent qualification).
Proficient user of MS Office software, in particular MS Excel and MS Word.
Well-developed presentation skills
Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
