The Subsurface Learning Team manages the development and delivery of learning offers to the Subsurface community across three Upstream functions.
The Subsurface Learning Manager is responsible for modernizing and updating the subsurface learning offers consistent with the three year plan agreed by functional leadership.
The role will be responsible for working with technical representatives through all phases including: learning needs analysis, designing, developing, and piloting of appropriate learning offers.
Delivers Upstream Talent and Learning/Head of Function agreed subsurface learning in-year plan for learning design and modernisation with end-to-end accountability including: learning needs analysis, assessment, design, development, piloting, and technical content owner engagement.
Effective collaboration and working relationship with the technical specialist and technical content owners in the development of the learning offers.
Actively drives 70:20:10 culture shift with the selection of the appropriate learning modality to support increased quality, accessibility and cost efficiency (including new learning ideas)
Works with the Functional Learning Director and Discipline Directors to define the three year learning modernization plan based on business needs and resource prioritization
Identifies and agrees scope of work for learning vendors or internal learning solutions team to deliver products as needed with appropriate vendor/contract management
Executes design and modernisation to PtA/BP University standards, using approved systems (e.g., Project Server, SharePoint tools) with commitment and quality mind-set.
Operates as One Team with peer Learning Managers to align activities, share resources, drive CI/efficiencies and ensures value for every dollar invested in 3rd party spend.
Works in partnership with Subsurface Learning Advisor to help them with efficient learning transitions delivery (e.g., LSC, Faculty needs) and CI.
Identifies opportunities to leverage existing learning systems and learning offers across BP Group to reduce cycle time.
Active learning to improve performance through learner feedback review with team and post appraisal of completed projects.
Educated to degree level – Learning related degree
Essential experience and job requirements
Significant experience in learning development and delivery.
Demonstrated ability to build quality learning offers for advanced technical staff.

Masters Degree in Instructional Design or related area.
Experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry
