A position has arisen for a Band 8A Superintendent Radiographer or Lead Clinical Technologist in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience in delivering a range of nuclear medicine services including SPECT/CT imaging.
Our multi-professional nuclear medicine team provides a clinical service comprising diagnostic imaging, in-vitro studies and radionuclide therapies, including iodine-131 and radium-223 to in-patients and out patients. The department operates a licensed radiopharmacy that provides radiopharmaceuticals daily to seven other nuclear medicine departments across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and North West London. In addition our clinical scientists and physicists provide physics support and radiation protection services to a number of radiology departments, universities and schools.
You will lead a team of radiographers, technologists and assistants to deliver a diagnostic nuclear medicine service and you will also support the lead clinical scientist to deliver the therapeutic nuclear medicine service. You will participate in all aspects of the clinical nuclear medicine service and in the provision of the radiopharmacy service to neighbouring hospitals
There will opportunities for collaborative working with other teams who provide imaging services within the Cancer Centre.
The Cancer Centre serves a catchment population of 1.7 million and is located in Northwood, the leafy London suburb on the Middlesex / Hertfordshire border between Central London and the Chilterns. It is just under 30 minutes away from the West End of London on the Metropolitan Line (part of the London Underground railway network), only 15 miles by car and just under 20 minutes away from the Chilterns and the Chiltern Hills.
In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of 3,518 and a maximum payment of 4,483 per annum pro rata.
