Role synopsis
The Commodity Enhance Finance (CEF) Book Lead Role within the EGP trading team is a key leadership position as the bench looks to enhance the returns on the back of existing EGP commodity flow. This will be an important component of the continued diversification of the EGP business and will report to the Head of Trading. This role will be accountable for building out and generating value across the established operating platform within the established control framework. In addition to their own discrete trading activity, the individual will set wider strategy and lead the team to advance deal flow while driving strong collaboration across the supporting functional set.
Key accountabilities
Accountable for all aspects of the CEF business including leading the CEF Team which consists of trading, operations and analysts with strong collaboration across supporting functions
Responsible for setting and delivering the yearly PnL target for CEF business. Communicates the target metrics (volume, PnL, deadlines, risk limits, etc) to the traders and ensures delivery within controls and framework established for the business
Formulates the overall trading strategy, establishes individual business targets for the CEF Team and provides overall support to develop the counterparty relationships required
As a player/coach, negotiates terms with client banks and counterparties and transacts accordingly
Ensures that
team adheres to risk, position and overall limits established
documentation of each transaction is executed within the guidelines and standards as agreed by BP Legal and Credit;
transactional risks are understood and managed appropriately including operational risk of the business; includes ensuring required credit limits are in place, monitored and complied with;
each transaction is initiated and settled within required timeframes;
funding requests from and remittances to Treasury and/or BP Credit are executed within the appropriate timeframes and quarter-end deadlines are adhered to;
records for all historical and live transactions are available for reporting purposes.
Acts as TSPA for CEF trading team while ensuring compliance with CEF established framework and operating procedures.
With assistance of BP Legal, drives standard transaction documentation (Global Templates) on both the buy and sell sides. Monitors the negotiation of the appropriate template with each new client bank to understand any variations and risks.
Designs new products to fit identified arbitrage opportunities, oversees the new product development and deployment.

Essential Education
Bachelor Degree (any discipline)
Essential experience and job requirements
Strong Trade Finance experience with experience in CEF.
A track record of realizing strong and sustainable trading results within CEF market and space.
Experience of managing and leading teams across diverse geographical locations
Demonstrated commitment to control and compliance.
Sound one team behaviours with the ability to receive and provide respectful challenge.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial markets including capital, trade finance and trading instruments.
Strong industry reputation with deep relationships across the emerging bank and confirming bank segments.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work within a very deadline orientated environment with competing priorities and complexities.
