The HR Services strategy is to centralise, standardise and simplify HR Administration globally to support BP’s businesses. HR Services will deliver through Delivery Centres located in the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. The London Delivery Centre executes and assures safe, reliable and compliant delivery within its geographical scope and scope of service catalogue. A simple, consistent and connected customer experience is paramount.
Purpose of Post
To establish and lead a high performing Payroll delivery team that is focussed on high quality outcomes for the countries in the Eastern Hemisphere. This role has accountability where country payrolls are direct line reports (operated in London primarily, but in some cases within the country itself) together with accountability for facilitating a regional forum.
The key responsibilities of the role:
Analysing leading practice, market trends and benchmarking to bring innovative thinking to the delivery of the Payroll Services domain. Maintain regulatory compliance as legislated by local and/or governing agencies
Demonstrates deep knowledge of Payroll processes and associated tools and systems. Embeds high skill and knowledge levels in to the team
Analysing relevant metrics to provide insight in to current and future domain performance; adapting and improving the service in an agile and responsive way, aligned to the global framework of the Payroll Global Process Owner (GPO) team and working with the outsourced service provider, where applicable
Creating and leading a high performing team to achieve KPI/SLA targets and deliver outstanding and compliant operational results. Be able to drive talent and performance through setting clear objectives, managing performance and creating opportunities for the team
Establishing a regional payroll forum, building and developing trusted and productive relationships with payroll leads in region
Representing the Payroll Services Domain in relevant governance meetings
Provides expertise and knowledge into the Global Payroll (GPO) team on the future/emerging strategy for payroll service delivery, including the associated service delivery model
Educated to degree level preferred.
Essential experience and job requirements
Proven track record in delivering high quality, compliant Payroll services across multiple geographies
A passion and interest in emerging trends in Payroll services and how this can enhance business performance and customer experience, including opportunities for synergy across the region
Experience of working in a multi-national and multi-lingual environment
Knowledge of ADP payroll solutions and Cloud HR Workday preferable
Prior system conversion experience
Prior domain experience in Payroll Services in a multi- national organisation
Proven team leader with a track record of team development and driving strong performance within a diverse (and sometimes decentralized) team
Adaptability and flexibility
Focused on building understanding and knowledge
Building and maintaining effective long term relationships
Strong influencing skills
Ability to handle high pressure situations and make real time decisions within defined delegations of authority
Strong problem analysis and problem solving skills
