Role synopsis
The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery during the Appraise and Select CVP stages of major capital projects across the Petrochemicals. The scope covers all projects with a value in excess of $20m including new build growth projects and capital projects on existing assets. The scope also includes the delivery of license projects up to the end of Define.
Key accountabilities
The Project Manager will work with regional commercial teams to develop and evaluate global project opportunities with strategic business fit and, work with Technology and Asset Operations teams to identify suitable opportunities for capital projects. The Project Manager will help define the project scope and objectives and ensure these are optimised such that the right projects are selected to move into Define.
The role will be responsible for all project activities. This will include schedule development, resource and budget plans, project execution plans, and contracting maps. The role will be responsible for capital and operating cost estimates developed to support economic modelling and, for networking upcoming approval requirements with those with the DoA.
The Project Manager will support HSSE values and ensure that agreed standards are implemented. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that lessons are captured and retained for the long term, and for achieving challenging targets that deliver Continuous Improvement programmes to drive standardisation and simplification with project delivery.
The Project Manager will have a number of key external interfaces. This includes the interface with the Downstream Projects Assurance team and the relationships with partners during the development of JV project opportunities. The role will interface with Technip for the provision of engineering services for Petrochemicals major projects and be the point of contact with engineering contractors.
The role will input to the management of the project portfolio for budget and planning purposes and will ensure their own project capability is developed and maintained.
Essential Education
Minimum BS degree in Engineering or Sciences 5+ years in related field
Essential experience and job requirements
Ability to influence across multiple functional groups.
Experience of the Appraise and Select Stage of commercial projects
Good communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders
