Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) – LAFT2 Cranwell (Barkston Heath)
Based: LAFT2 RAF Barkston Heath
Hours: 40 per week, on shift, 5 days per week..
We wish to appoint an Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) Reporting to the Senior Air Traffic Control Officer (SATCO) for the LAFT2 contract at RAF Barkston Heath. The ATCO will carry out all the duties of an Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) ensuring safe delivery of all Air Traffic Services in order to meet or exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs at all times.
The key accountabilities of the job holder will be as follows:
Provide Air Traffic Control Services as required to meet the needs of the customer and the contract
Maintain the integrity of the runway and surrounding areas to ensure safe operations. Carry out runway inspections and report debris and damage, arrange for runway sweeping as required
Carry out watch keeping duties and maintain an ATC daily Log
Provide direction to ATCA’s, Ops Clerks, Ground Radio and Fire and Crash staff to maintain safe and efficient airfield operations.
Qualifications and Experience
ATC CAA licence in ADI (Aerodrome)
European Class 3 Medical (ATC)
Full driving licence
Meteorological Observer Qualified.
Experience of working in a military environment
Proactive customer focussed team player
Able to work in a small highly motivated team
Articulate in oral and written communication
