Supply Planner – MSSP
We currently have an opportunity for a Supply Planner working within Defence Systems Technology (DST), Bristol. DST is a business unit in the Marine & Technology Division of Babcock International Group.
Ownership of the Contract Supply Plan (CSP) for Materials, Labour and Equipment / Facilities, associated with delivering MSSP - T45 & QEC in Service Support.
Converting and communicating supply requirements into detailed plans and supply schedules
Principal Tasks & Responsibilities
Delivery of a costed and time phased CSP, detailing how Articles and repairs to satisfy Planned and un-planned Inventory Demands as identified in the Contract Demand Plan will be met.
The CSP must include a supply plan for a minimum of a rolling 24 month period.
The CSP must contain details including when, where and how much it is anticipate the fulfil the obligations.
Articulate recommended order schedules and stock strategies (e.g. re-order point, max/min, safety stock etc.)
Develop Fall Back Plans.
Analyse and update planned demand requirements monthly.
Liaise with the demand planners to translate and challenge the requirements of the unconstrained demand plan, against budget and capacity constraints.
Develop supply options (Make/Buy/Repair in situ/Repair/VMI etc.) for all items with a validated demand, understanding available resources and any supply constraints (including, but not limited to - supplier capacity, obsolescence, availability of repairable items etc).
Creation of a constrained Supply Plan, through liaison with suppliers for implementation by the Supply Chain team.
Respond to operational changes through the ability to model scenarios of surge activity and a heightened delivery focus, and enact these plans as required.
Initiate, implement and maintain Effective System inventory provisioning activity and supply planning (including optimum A1 (Serviceable) stock, Forecast repairs, and inventory disposal).
Consulting with stakeholders including but not necessarily limited to; Internal - MSSP Management Team, MSSP Supply Chain Team , External -Disposal Services Authority, Maritime Logistics, MSS Senior Inventory Managers and the Contract Management Team.
Gain Authority approvals for these this planned demand.
Provide the approved CDP to the Supply Planners for implementation.
Accountable to the Head of Supply Chain for the delivery of the CSP.
Day to day engagement with stakeholders including but not necessarily limited to; Internal - MSSP Management Team, MSSP Supply Chain Team , External -Disposal Services Authority, Maritime Logistics, MSS Senior Inventory Managers and the Contract Management Team.
Qualifications and Experience
Supply Chain Planning & Optimisation experience.
Thorough knowledge of systems and processes relating to inventory optimisation and ERP Systems.
Knowledge of MoD materials systems (CRISP, etc) and the Defence Logistics Framework (formally JSP886).

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
