This is an exciting opportunity, as an enthusiastic nurse/midwife to join our research department. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine your clinic skills working with children and families in the hospital with an opportunity to participate and lead on innovative research in this field.
Working across commercial and non-commercial NIHR portfolio adopted studies, you will work with the wider multidisciplinary teams including the Principal investigators and study sponsors to deliver a seamless research pathway for patients. You will be involved in the day to day running of clinical trials which involve recruitment, treatment and monitoring, sample collection and processing; data collection and providing support to the enrolled patients and their families at Russell's Hall Hospital.
The post holder will also be required to travel between other West Midlands hospitals with neonatal units (approx. 8 sites - with main focus on travel to Birmingham Children's Hospital; New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton; Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust and Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust), collecting the data of infants recruited into a wide range of recognised neonatal NIHR portfolio studies.
Excellent time management skills, ability to manage your own workload, flexibility and good communication skills will be key for this role.

This role will be pivotal in supporting the expansion and growth of the portfolio of neonatal research across the region.

The Trust currently serves a population of around 450,000 people from three hospital sites at Russells Hall Hospital, Guest Outpatient Centre in Dudley and Corbett Outpatient Centre in Stourbridge. The Trust also provides specialist adult community based care in patients' homes and in more than 40 centres in the Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council community providing excellent generic and specialist care closer to home, thereby proactively avoiding hospital admissions.
