Want to be part of our future? Then we want to hear from you.
At Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust we have a simple vision - safe and compassionate care, every time. We are focussed on a programme of continuous quality improvement, listening to our patients and investing in our workforce to deliver an excellent patient experience. As an integrated Trust we provide acute, community and palliative care in people's homes, from one of our five community hospitals, or two acute hospitals at Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe.
We are committed to providing staff with learning and development opportunities to support their career progression. We also offer on-site subsidised childcare, childcare vouchers, flexible working and a generous pension.
There is an opportunity to join a committed and progressive team who work within a challenging and motivating environment. The job is varied and you must have excellent organisational and caring skills when dealing with people in a clinical and ward setting.
The Podiatry Department run an in-patient screening service called Putting Feet First for people with Diabetes and this would be incorporated in this role. The successful candidate will be provided with in-house training to gain competencies in diabetic foot screening, assisting during foot ulcer clinics and assisting during nail operations. As well as screening the feet you will provide foot care advice to patients and record the data on the RIO IT system.
You must be capable of working on your own initiative with minimal supervision but also as a team member when supporting the diabetic foot ulcer clinics and nail operations. The job requires you to be physically fit as part of your time will be covering the wards at our Hospital sites.
There may be opportunities to become involved in the education sessions to newly diagnosed diabetic patients that are run at other sites across the County; therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential and a general knowledge of diabetes including signs and symptoms would be desirable.
