Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist who is looking to join our multidisciplinary team?

If yes, this is the role for you! CAS behavioural health is one of the UK's largest providers of specialist adult services in mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities. We work in close partnership with the NHS and have a real impact on making a positive difference to those within our care and maximising independence.

Hours: 40, Monday to Friday

Location: Covering 2 sites: The Manor, Central Drive, Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, NG20 8BA and The Views, 22 Wellington Street, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 3JP (travel expenses between sites will be reimbursed)

Salary: up to 30,000 (depending on experience)


The Manor Hospital is a 20 bedded locked door rehabilitation service in Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire which specialises in the assessment and treatment of men (aged 18-65) diagnosed learning disability and who present with challenging behaviour and co-morbid diagnoses. The Views is a 10 bedded locked door service in Matlock, Derbyshire that also specialises in assessment and treatment of females diagnosed with learning disability.

The Opportunity

As a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), you will work with a range of individuals to maximise their potential and to enable them to enjoy the best possible quality of life. You will receive regular support and supervision from a Highly Specialist SLT and work closely with individuals to assess communication needs in a range of environments and provide functional targets and recommendations to aid day-to-day communicative success.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and support the implementation of the therapeutic approach, responding to patient needs and maintaining a total communication environment. You will ensure audits are completed and the RCSLT 5 good communication standards are utilised.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate for this role will have a degree or a postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) and be registered with the HCPC. This post would suit a newly qualified with relevant inpatient experience or a specialist SLT who has exceptional interpersonal skills and is committed to making a positive difference. Some experience working with individuals that have Learning Disabilities and/or other complex needs is beneficial.

Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
