CONSULTANT POSTS IN Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an interest in minimal access surgery and benign gynaecological surgery, including pelvic floor surgery
FULL TIME (10 PAs)
Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty and which is in close proximity to Leeds and York, Harrogate is an affluent town offering a very high standard of residential accommodation. There is a wide range of local schools which have an excellent national reputation in both the state and private sectors. There are numerous sporting, recreational and cultural activities available in the town or the surrounding area to suit most interests.
The trust gained level two CNST for maternity services in September 2013 and was rated as one of the highest performing trusts in the country in the CQC maternity patient satisfaction questionnaire.
This excellent-rated Trust is inviting applications for a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist post, with an interest to complement those in the department. This is a new post to support future service development in gynaecology. The post includes duties in general obstetrics and gynaecology.
All applicants must possess Specialist Registration with the GMC or be within six months of completing a training programme recognised for the award of CCT or equivalent.
The successful applicant will join the obstetrics and gynaecology team, resulting in a team of seven full-time consultants, seven full time middle grade doctors (three specialty trainees and four specialty doctors), one part time middle grade doctor and seven doctors on the first on call rota (2 FY2s, one ST1/2, four GPVTS trainees). The post holder will join a friendly, well-established and innovative multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of high quality care to patients.
There are excellent opportunities for the post holder to develop new or existing services according to their clinical interests.
Applicants must hold, or expect to hold within six months of the date of interview, an appropriate CCT (or equivalent) and be listed on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register.
